We’re not sure if this lioness has had luck with bringing down hippos in the past, but this ambush (sniff fest) ends in spectacular failure.
Looking for what she probably thought was an easy meal in Massai Mara, the lioness sniffs around a sleeping hippopotamus. Unfortunately for the lioness, the hippo wasn’t big on having their personal space invaded and immediately attacked her.
Saying attack may actually be putting it lightly, especially since the hippo grabs the lioness by the head and lifts her off the ground. Luckily, the lioness manages to get away before things get even more embarrassing for her.
She probably won’t go up to a hippo anytime soon!
