This story is just a reminder that an animal encounter can easily end in a viral video that can get a laugh or a story that the person is lucky to walk away from.
Debbie Urquhart, an Australian woman, was just out for a jog near her home like most days when she came face to face with a male kangaroo. Coming across a kangaroo doesn’t immediately make most people think of the dangerous situation it actually is for the person crossing paths with the animal. These guys can be incredibly vicious. The kangaroo ended up jumping on top of Urquhart and savagely mauling her. Luckily once she stopped screaming and played dead, the kangaroo lost interest and left.
The attack left Urquhart bloody and in need of medical attention. She was able to make her way home on foot, where her husband took her to the hospital. She ended up needing dozens stitches for gashes on her arm, shoulder, back and buttocks.
