Remember when the only way to skydive was to get in an airplane and jump out of it? It was one of the most extreme things a person could do at the time and struck fear into anyone with a fear of heights.
After that there came other ways to fly through the air without the landing killing you through BASE jumping, jumping out of hot air balloons and even jumping without a parachute into a giant net. Now there’s a new way to make use of a parachute, but it requires a drone.
Aerones, a company in Latvia, built a 28-propeller drone that hoisted a man 1,000 feet in the air and then dropped him. With this advance in the capabilities of drones, it looks like the future of skydiving is going to be a lot more convenient and accessible.
