At 55-Years-Old, The “French Spiderman” Keeps Climbing Skyscrapers

We’re not sure if Alain Robert is fully human or if he was actually bitten by a radioactive spider at some point in his life. At 55, Robert continues to show why he’s known as the “French Spiderman.”

Despite being stopped by security during a previous attempt, Robert finds his chance and manages to climb the 614-foot tall Tour Total. This was his third time climbing the structure and one of over 150 skyscrapers he’s climbed around the globe.

The craziest thing about his climb is that he did the entire thing with nothing but chalk and climbing shoes. Considering how tall it was and that it took him right at an hour to scale, that’s a lot of room for error.

Despite multipleĀ arrests and being a climber since he was 11-years-old, he shows no signs of slowing down.

“As long as I have the physical strength to scale heights, I will continue to climb,” he said.
