VIDEO: Everything You Need To Know About How The Browning A-5 Works

You’ve heard about it, maybe you’ve seen one and if you’re lucky you’ve shot one. The Browning Auto-5 (A-5) is the first succesful semi-automatic shotgun. Designed in 1898 and patented in 1900, it remained in production until 1998.

100 years of production is an incredible feat for anything, but one look at the A-5 and it’s not hard to see how it warranted such a run.

Although the Remington 1100 is the best selling auto-loading shotgun in U.S. history, it’s design was taken from the Browning A-5.

This recoil-operated semi-auto shotgun had a five round capactiy, four in the magazine and one in the chamber. The video shows every possible angle of as the weapon is fired that you could want to see.
