See Incredible 94-Pound Wahoo Video Caught From a Kayak; Giant ‘Hoo Smashes Records

At 94 pounds, this wahoo, caught by angler Jason Jearey near Durban, South Africa, is an absolute beast.

Wahoo are known and prized for how fast and insanely aggressive they are. These guys have been known to jump several feet out of the water.

This monster is the new unofficial kayak record and beats the South African record for largest wahoo caught by 15 pounds – though Jearey isn’t a member of a club so it won’t stand.

According to Jearey’s YouTube channel, the fish took a live massbanker on a 6X VMC treble with a 50lb fluorocarbon leader that had been meant to snag a yellowfin tuna. The full fight lasted 28 minutes with the fish taking about 240 meters of line on it’s initial run before diving down and circling under the ski.
