Man Purposely Lets Deadly Snakes Bite Him in Search of Anti-Venom

Tim Friede – aka the venom man – has self inflicted over 160 snake bites on himself within the last 16 years of his life. Did I mention they were all highly venomous, some with the potential to kill him within minutes? You’d expect him to be dead, but he’s still here.

Tim’s snake obsession comes from his desire to help save the tens of thousands of lives that are taken due to deadly snake bites every year. He has been slowly introducing these deadly toxins into his body in an effort to build an immunity, hoping a vaccine can be created from his research. This effort has cost Tim his marriage and nearly his life on several occasions, but when he is able to survive the bite of a taipan and a black mamba at the same time, he may be on to something.
