Yellowstone Is Using ‘Thirsty’ Concrete That Filters 50 Gallons of Water a Minute

Yellowstone replaced 4,160 feet of walkways in their park with a new hybrid concrete, called Flexi-Pave, that is a mixture of recycled tires, stone and a binding agent. The new material will be mostly used around Old Faithful and other geysers in the park so rainwater and snow can more easily be absorbed back into the ground. The park is taking on this project as a way to better insure the continued health of the park and its precious aquifer and ecosystem.
