There’s Nothing Like Catching A Big Fish And Finding Out It’s The Biggest Fish!
A 20-year-old largemouth bass state record fell on Wednesday after an angler caught the record fish in South Dakota.
Matthew Dunham was fishing at Indian Scout Lake in Todd County when he snagged the record fish. It ended up weighing 9 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 23 inches long with a 19 7/8 inch girth.
The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department posted a picture of the record bass and congratulated Dunham on his achievement.
All Records Must Fall
The previous record for largemouth bass in the state was caught on Nov. 14, 1999 in the Rollins Game Production Area gravel pit and weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces.
We’d like to give a big congratulations to Matthew Dunham as well! There’s nothing like the feeling of catching a trophy fish and then finding out it also broke a record.
If you have any stories of some truly monster fish, be sure to send us a message.
