Boater Attempts to Scare Off Anglers Who Were Legally Catching Crappie Near His Dock

If you’re living and happen to see exist around other people on a day to day basis, there’s a good chance someone’s going to do something that rubs you the wrong way from time to time. How you react to that situation is up to you and can be the difference between your offenders listening to what you have to say or you looking like a jackwagon.

The altercation involving Will Dyess, some of his buddies and lake resident Phillip Morris Lough ended up with one of looking like not only a jackwagon, but potentially put lives at risk.

The anglers were fishing a crappie brush pile on Lake Tyler, located in Texas, this weekend. They were simply enjoying their evening and doing so in a completely legal manner. They happened to be near Lough’s dock, which didn’t make him very happy. In order to make his anger known, Lough decided to speed around the anglers in circles in a ski boat. The video above shows the altercation while the video below shows the same location at a different time with multiple boats hanging around.

The incident is being investigated by Smith County, Texas Game Wardens and will present the case to the District Attorney’s office.

Lough, who will face a Class B misdemeanor if charged under the Sportsman’s Rights Act, has both privately and publicly apologized to the anglers.

“I would just like to say how sorry I am for the way I acted Sunday afternoon,” Lough said. “My son was trying to fish out here and they had the dock blocked with boats and ropes and anchor ropes and he came up and told me, ‘I can’t fish because they got it all blocked off.’”

“I’ve never, not that I can remember, have ever done that before in my life,” continued Lough. I “totally lost it,” he added.
