A thirsty koala wasn’t going to miss an opportunity for a free drink of water when it spotted two runners. It approaches them and quickly gets its fill of water before turning its back and receiving some pets from the woman who gave it water.
As cute and adorable as this encounter will be to many people, approaching a wild animal, especially a koala, doesn’t have a great chance of ending well. As friendly as they look they are typically fairly vicious. If that isn’t enough, koalas are riddled with chlamydia and any contact with them can potentially infect humans.
If you ever come in close proximity to a koala, especially a thirsty one, it’s probably a good idea not to drink after it.
