Things could have gone better for this hunter – who was forced to shoot the animal point blank to save his hunting dogs – as he was tracking a mountain lion in Montana.
This was a legal hunt with hounds that lead to treeing the cougar, according to the poster of the video on YouTube. Due to a poor shot taken by the hunter, the cat ran off from the safety of the tree. After searching for the mountain lion with no luck, they decided to release the hounds to find it.
Once they found the mountain lion, it decided to try and fight the dogs on the ground instead of climbing a tree. The rest of the events unfold in the below video:
